L. Damon Whitmore

Damon Whitmore is an Associate in the Firm and specializes in the areas of taxation, estate planning, probate and trust administration. He received his undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University in 1984, and his J.D. degree from Wayne State University in 1994. Damon was on the Wayne Law Review from 1992 to 1994, where he was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award by Lawyers Cooperative Publishing. He was elected to the Law Review Board for the academic year of 1993 to 1994 as Senior Articles Editor. Damon is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court. He has lectured for the National Business Institute on the topics of estate planning and tax exempt entities.

Damon served in the U.S. Navy from 1984 to 1991 as a Russian interpreter and cryptologic officer, and he retains his commission as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He practiced law with another Detroit area firm for nine years in the areas of estate planning, probate, commercial litigation, real estate and general business law before joining the Firm in July of 2004.
